Bean Busy
August 14th, 2010
Beans are fun to plant and watch grow, are yummy to eat and even make great art materials. Try this quick and easy art activity using a variety of different types of beans and lentils.
Age group: 3years+
What you need:
An assortment of dried beans and lentils
Cardboard or stiff paper (the stiffer the better as the beans can be heavy)
Glue (PVA is best)
Marker pens/ Felt tips
What to do:
- Let your child scribble wiggly lines all over the card. Don’t make the lines to close, ideally large free loops and lines are needed.
- Using glue, stick the different beans on to different lines and to fill in the shapes created by the loops.
- Allow to dry and display proudly! Artwork that is good enough to eat! (but please don’t!)
Now, while you are thinking about beans…why not have baked beans on toast for your meal???
