Paper Plate Sunflower

May 13th, 2010

This bright and cheerful Sunflower craft will liven up your display. Children love all the painting, gluing and different textures created. Why not create a few and make a pretty sunflower garden?
Age group: 18 months +

What You Need:
  • Paper Plates
  • Yellow Paper for petals
  • Paint
  • Glue
  • Sunflower seeds or Oatmeal
What to do:
  1. Give your children paper plates. A variety of sizes will make an adorable display on the wall.
  2. Have them cut out petals from the yellow paper and then attach them around the paper plate.  If they are too young to do this on their own, you can pre-prepare these and just allow the children to stick them onto the plate.
  3. They can then add sunflower seeds or oatmeal to the centre of the flower .
  4. Once dry, you could use large strips of green paper to make stems and leaves or just keep them as flower heads.
