Decorate a candle
October 15th, 2009
Your little ones will really enjoy making this lovely drawing pin decorative candle. They are truly absorbed by the process of pushing the pins in, and even your youngest child (supervised of course) can create a really pretty effect.
Age group: 18 months +
What you need:
Drawing (push) pins
Plain church candle (plain cream or white coloured works best)
What to do:
Decorate your candle by pressing in the pins. Older children may like to create patterns on thier candle, but random pins also look fabulous. Instead of allowing children to decorate with many different colours, you could restrict the colours to two, for example use only gold and silver or red and green.
This activity is fun, easy and the end product makes a wonderful and unique gift.
NOTE: pins can be dangerous. Supervise your child carefully at all times!
