Festive Handprint Wreath
November 18th, 2009
Use your toddlers sweet little handprints to make a special Christmas wreath.
Age group: 0-5 years
What you need:
- A ring cut out of cardboard (the size that you’d like your wreath to be).
- Green paint*
- a few sheets of White paper*
- Scissors (adult to use these)
- Glue
-
Ribbon (red/gold/silver)
What to do:
- Paint your child’s hand green.
- Press it to the paper.
- Repeat until you have many handprints.
- Allow the paint to dry and cut out the handprints.
- Adhere each handprint by the heel of the hand, to the cardboard ring so that the fingers are facing out of the circle.
- Repeat until all the handprints are used. For a fuller wreath, overlap the handprints slightly.
To decorate:
- Add a festive ribbon bow at the top.
- You could also make little red fingerprint dots with paint or out of red paper to stick on as berries.
- Outline the fingers with a little green glitter
- Stick on some sparkly stars
* If you would rather not use paint, draw around your child’s hand on green paper and cut them out instead.
