March 21st, 2010
Home made gifts are always the best! And this one is no exception. Mother’s and other relatives will love receiving this bright, cheerful and useful present.
This vase is easy to make, even for the smallest child. You can decide what colours to use to make it suit a specific colour scheme or just let them decorate with a rainbow of colours. Keep the shapes regular or tear random strips..it really is up to you and your child.
Age group: 18 months+
What you need:
- Coloured paper
- PVA glue
- Water
- Mixing pot
- Old glass jar
- paintbrush
What to do:
- Cut or tear lots of different coloured pieces of paper into rectangles or squares.
- Mix some glue with a little water in your mixing pot using the paintbrush.
- Stick the pieces of paper to the jar with the watery glue.
- Varnish the whole jar with PVA glue and leave to dry. Don’t worry, the PVA will dry clear so you won’t be able to see it and it will stop the paper from peeling off.
- Fill your vase with real or paper flowers to make a beautiful present.
