Autumn leaves are falling down…
October 20th, 2009
Get your little ones up and moving with this harvest song sung to the tune of London Bridge.
Age group: 1 year +
What you need:
- Gather clean dry leaves (you could use fabric leaves if you prefer) and bring them inside in a large space.
-
Give a few of the chilren small brooms or plastic rakes
What to do:
- If you have lots of children to participate in the activity, get them into a circle shape and they follow the cues for the activity. If you only have a few children, allow them to move freely around the room.
- Sing the following words to the tune of “London Bridge”
“Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down, Autumn leaves are falling down- welcome Autumn.
“Sweep the leaves and put them here ,put them here, put them here, Sweep the leaves and put them here- welcome Autumn.”
“Jump right in and have some fun, have some fun, have some fun, Jump right in and have some fun-welcome autumn.
Here is another to try:
Sing this to the tune of “Row, Row Row Your Boat”
“Leaves, leaves falling down, falling on the ground,
Red, yellow, orange, brown, falling on the ground.”
