candles, autumn, toddlebabes,

Candles create an inviting atmosphere this Autumn

As the mornings and evenings start darkening and the weather turns crisp and cold, my thoughts turn to chunky jerseys, thick leggings and woolen socks. Out come the beanies and hats and scarves from their summer exile, on go the electric blankets and orders for lovely kiln-dried wood for the fireplace are made.

Fabulous Kids book, Hetty Feather, now on stage!

We're Going to See Hetty Feather! Being big Jacqueline Wilson fans, we jumped at the chance to go and see and review the stage adaptation of Hetty Feather, one of my daughter's favourite trilogies by one of her favourite authors. In the Autumn of 2014, Random House published Jacqueline Wilson’s 100th book, Opal Plumstead. My daughter received, and thoroughly enjoyed, Opal Plumstead as her Christmas book ( we always do a book as a present) […]

Clothes full of Character for Kids

I don't know about you, but always in the spring and summer months, my children seem to go through growth spurts. Suddenly all their trouser legs are half mast, their shirts are riding up to their belly buttons and their shoes are pinching. It is an expensive time of the year with three children. Now I know there are some great kids clothes available at really cheap prices via supermarkets and similar stores but what […]

photo book, father's day, snapfish,, review

Why you should make Photo books for your memories.

A Photo book is a beautiful way to keep and share your memories! I am the official memory keeper in my family. I love being able to look back at images and letters and videos of family members. I keep scrapbooks for my children so that they will know about their childhood when they are older. I write them notes so that they will understand how I feel about them and have something to treasure […]

ShoutyKid How Harry Riddles…

The funniest kid in fiction is back! Follow his life’s ups and downs told through laugh-out-loud letters, emails, texts and more!   This is the first time I have read a book that is entirely constructed using emails, texts, forum discussions and letters. I admit I was a little skeptical at first, as I have always tended to go for the more traditional regular chapter books ( I'm guessing that's more to do with the fact […]

The Butterfly Club,,

The Butterfly Club by Jacqueline Wilson

Another Superb book by Jacqueline Wilson!  My daughter is a big fan of Jacqueline Wilson and has read many of her more recent books. At Christmas she was given The 2015 Diary, a copy of Opal Plumstead and Christmas Cracker. Earlier in the year she had read all the books in the Hetty Feather series, which she thoroughly enjoyed, so we were thrilled to be able to receive and review the newly released The Butterfly […]

The Dreamsnatcher by Abi Elphinstone

We love books in our home. In particular, books for children. Through my years as a teacher, I collected a large and varied selection of picture books, beginner reader and young children's books, all of which are now spilling from our many bookshelves. So it came as no surprise to me that my eldest child is an avid reader. Sadly, she is now getting a little old for the books that we have in our […]

Betty Crocker Lemon cup cake mix review

Betty Crocker cupcake box mix review I love to bake, I always make my cupcakes from scratch as they are so delicious and I am known for them in my neighbourhood. I like to make them for friends get-togethers, parties, and by request for special occasions. But sometimes, the kids want to do a quick baking activity, or I want to save my luxury cupcake recipes (which are quite costly to make per cake) and […]

Lego Duplo Product Review

Here at ToddleBabes we recently had the pleasure of sampling some of the new Lego Duplo sets. We randomly selected a few of our readers and the generous folks at Lego Duplo sent out either the new Polar set or Police set to those lucky few. The response from all the families has been fabulous and all agree that these wonderful toys should go onto a must buy list for your little ones. From the […]
