5 ways to look your age, not older!

Since my children are all now in school, I am starting to make improvements in areas long neglected in favour of the kids. I’m always last on my”to do” list and have decided this has to change! While being home, I have maintained only the most basic of self care routines. Just enough to fall into the “not gross” category. But, with my 40th birthday looming, my youngest finally in school full time and my […]

10 things I Love, 10 things I Hate

So I was doing a little stock take of life the other night. You know how it is, when you’re woken at 3am and suddenly your mind is whirling with arbitrary thoughts and ideas. None of which are useful in any way to you at that ungodly hour, but serve to ensure that you are awake til at least 6am. Anyway, I started thinking about stuff that makes me happy. The little things that bring […]

My first BritMumsLive and being Naked in Public toilets

A-Z of me!

A little look into me and who I am… A- Abhor lazy Grammar/Spelling: I can’t stand laziness in writing. Their/ there,  your/ you’re… It’s not that difficult to use the correct one! I am surprised everyday by how many people don’t know the difference-or don’t care. Another one is using these incorrectly; ground and floor. If you are inside, it’s floor, if you are outside it’s ground. It’s also a sink in the kitchen, and […]

Reasons I Love (& Hate) Spring.

The winter blues are finally disappearing into the distance. Layers are coming off, skies are turning blue, birds are chirping in the trees and people are emerging from their winter isolation. I am a sun lover. I look forward to the end of winter with eager anticipation. I yearn for the Spring and Summer months to start. They are always magnificent in my mind. There are many things I love about this time of year. […]

39 life lessons I’ve learned in 39 years…

Yes, I realise that 39 things in 39 years makes me a slow learner, but hey…It means I’ve had time to really ponder it all! These are the things I feel are worth mentioning. I’m pretty sure that there are many more, perhaps for another post one day..but for the moment here’s my list.

35 Days to Better Health

My journey to Good Health is just beginning!  Since the birth of my last child in 2010, I have struggled with a variety of health issues. I have been unable to loose the excess pregnancy weight, felt tired and generally low.  I made the decision to take my charge of my health and on the 5th of January I  implemented my plan towards a healthier, fitter and less wobbly bits me.

Full speed ahead to the forties

So 2015 has arrived and has prompted me to think about getting older. As you do, I took a moment to do my annual stock take. What are my dreams, goals, aspirations for the year to come? This all got me looking at what has come before and thinking about what lies ahead.

30 hours in the life of us…

I thought it would be fun to document a 30 hour period in our family’s life. It was fun and interesting taking my camera out and about to capture the little things. The things that normally go by unrecorded. We had a busy 30 hours with loads to photograph and enjoy together. Here’s a little look into life with my fabulous little family.

Poppies and Taking Time To Remember

I took my children to London to experience the magnificence of the Poppy display Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red at the Tower of London. We were blessed with a stunning Autumn day which show cased the display perfectly. To say that it was both awe inspiring and humbling is an understatement! Before leaving home I spoke to the children about what we were going to see and why and pinned their poppy badges […]

32 ‘Gained’ things since I became a mother

Last week I wrote about the 32 things I had lost since becoming a mom. This post follows up on that by mirroring those things with what I have gained in their stead. I have to say that at this point in my life, this list is by far the better one.

32 ‘Lost’ things … since motherhood

What things in your life have you “lost” since becoming a mom? I didn’t think I had changed my lifestyle all that much since having children until I actually sat down to make a list. In my BC (Before Children) days I was a primary school teacher. Working everyday with some fabulous little people and some equally enjoyable adults. Days went by and going through the motions of planning, preparing, teaching and assessing were just […]

No Butts about it! exercise for mothers, losing prgnancy weight

Simple exercise plan for busy mums

Now before you even begin to read this, you have to know that I am not a personal trainer and not trained in any way in fitness and health. I am however, a mother to three children who once had a nice flat tummy. It’s been 3 years since my youngest was born, I am still struggling to get rid of the pouch of a tummy I am left with. I do have friends who […]

Lose Pregnancy Weight Fast – 5 Bad Habits to Quit

A new mom stranded on an island with no food would naturally lose the pregnancy weight fast because of the lack of food. Although there are many factors that affect and contribute to being overweight, the one factor that stands apart from the rest is FOOD. Food by itself is not the problem. The real problem is our unhealthy relationship with food and lack of knowledge about the food we buy and fuel our […]
