I thought it would be fun to document a 30 hour period in our family’s life. It was fun and interesting taking my camera out and about to capture the little things. The things that normally go by unrecorded. We had a busy 30 hours with loads to photograph and enjoy together. Here’s a little look into life with my fabulous little family.
- Superhero Dress up for Children in Need fundraising: My children’s school hosted a fundraising event for Children in Need. This year’s dress up topic was superheros. My children love the film The Incredibles and decided to dress up as the characters from it. Although a last minute change of mind from my youngest meant that the character JackJack was left out. Apparently he’s a baby!! So spiderman stepped in at the last minute.
- Cakes and cookies for the Children In Need cake sale: as part of the fundraising effort, the school PTA and older children organised a cake sale. I made some cupcakes and cookies to donate to the stall.
- School Disco- My 4 year old’s first one: My youngest only started school this year. And due to his age, is not allowed to attend after school activities with out an adult present. He was desperate to go to the school disco, so I had to go along. It was so cute to see a bunch of 4,5 and 6 year old madly jumping about under the flashing lights and to the thumping music.
- First Football Match- My 6 year old’s first match and he was Captain and scored a goal! I had one of those super proud mom moments. My middle boy seems to be my ball and racquet sports child. He played in his first ever match and scored a great goal.
- Hot Chocolate and Cake at the Coffee Shop: After football we headed to our local community coffee shop. It is run by a different group of volunteers each week to raise funds for a variety of charities. The cakes are donated by members of the community and the coffee shop is staffed by volunteers. We like to make it part of our Saturday morning routine. Football, followed by a hot drink and cake and a pop in at the library next door.
- Time for the library-books and computers. While the grown ups enjoy their hot drinks, the children head off to the library to play on the computers, choose books or do the art or craft activity provided.
- Fun in the Park with friends. The park is right near the library, so it is often busy with parents and children who have had their cakes, coffee and been to the library. A few minutes run about in the park with friends is the perfect end to a fun filled morning.
