Now that the rain keeps falling, I thought you may like to learn some fun and funny poems about rain with your toddler
RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY
Mother Goose
Rain, rain, go away,
Come again some other day,
Little Johnny wants to play.
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again
I’m waiting for a rainbow
I’m waiting for a rainbow I’m waiting for the sun.
I’m waiting for the rain to stop. So I can play and run.
I know I should be patient.
But Waiting’s such a pain
I’ll guess I have to pass the time.
Appreciating rain.

MANNERS LESSON
author unknown
If I were as rude as the rain
And came when I was uninvited
And stayed too long and ruined people’s fun
(like going to the baseball game with my dad
and eating hotdogs in the sunshine)
And made children (like me) miserable,
I’d be sent to my room for quiet time,
Until I learned to behave.
The Rain
by Robert Louis Stevenson
The rain is raining all around,
it falls on field and tree.
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.
Misty- Moisty
Misty-moisty was the morn,
And cloudy was the weather.
There I met an old man,
Dressed all in leather.
Dressed all in leather,
Against the wind and rain.
With a how do you do?
And a how do you do?
And a how do you do, again
The Rain
Pitter-patter, raindrops,
Falling from the sky;
Here is my umbrella
To keep me safe and dry!
When the rain is over,
And the sun begins to glow,
Little flowers start to bud,
And grow and grow and grow!
Rainy Day
It’s raining hard,
And people say,
“It’s raining cats
And dogs today.”
It’s raining cats.
“Meow, meow.”
It’s raining puppy dogs.
“Bow-wow.”
Rain
Rain on the green grass
And rain on the tree,
And rain on the housetop,
But not upon me.
It’s Raining, It’s Pouring
It’s raining, it’s pouring,
The old man is snoring.
He bumped his head, and he went to bed,
And he couldn’t get up in the morning.
Thunder Crashes
Thunder crashes.
Lightening flashes.
Rain makes puddles,
I make splashes.
Raindrops
Raindrops are such funny things.
They haven’t feet or haven’t wings.
Yet they sail through the air,
With the greatest of ease,
And dance on the street,
Wherever they please.
Splash
“Splash,” said a raindrop
As it fell upon my hat;
“Splash said another
As it trickled down my back.
“You are very rude,” I said
As I looked up to the sky;
Then another raindrop splashed
Right into my eye!
