Spiced Walnuts
What you need:
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 450g bag of walnuts
- Small glass serving platter or bowl as part of the gift
- Cellophane and ribbons to wrap and decorate.
What to do:
- In a large pot mix water, sugar and spices.
- Allow to boil and thicken. Syrup should run slowly off the back of a metal spoon.
- Using a slotted spoon, dip walnuts into syrup.
- Let syrup drip off the spoon before spreading walnuts in baking tray.
- Spread out and separate on the tray.
- Let them cool.
