Apples are a plenty at this time of year and for those looking to celebrate Harvest, here are some creative ideas to do just that with your toddler. This craft is easy to do with even your youngest!
Age group: 18 months+

What you need:
- any sorts of scrap red paper (tissue, wrapping, junk mail, foil, celophane etc)
- A small scrap of green paper
- PVA glue
- a Paper plate for the base (Any size will do-but you may like smaller ones for those with less concentration span!)
What to do:
- Tear or cut the scraps of red paper into small pieces about the size of a 50p coin.
- Cover the back of the paper plate with glue.
- Stick the papers pieces on.
- When the plate is completely covered, add another layer of glue over the top to neaten and stick down any loose edges.
- Cut two leaf shapes and a stalk from the green paper and glue to the top edge of the plate.
- Display your apples on a giant tree picture, or piled up in a giant basket picture.
- Learn an apple rhyme or poem
- Sing songs about apples/harvest

- Make apple muffins, pie, tart or sauce
- Go apple picking
- Do apple printing
- Make apple candle holders for your dinner table
